Sometimes people never cease to amaze you. Lovely Gemma from Chapel fought breast cancer and raised over £16,000 for cancer charities before it returned and she was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. She’s not only fighting to keep going for her young family and having leading edge treatment, but has put together free packs for people like her diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer.

It was my absolute pleasure to have Gemma and her mum to stay in London when she was having treatment there earlier this year and to take them for lunch in Parliament. Anyone who’s met Gemma will know what good fun she is so plenty of laughter, and I know her packs will be full of practical advice and supplies but also of fun and hope.

Do visit her site if this affects you or someone you know.

Thank you Gemma

Ruth George, Labour's Champion for High Peak

“There has never been such a huge difference between the political parties and the future they offer. I want people in High Peak to know that there is a better alternative than a government which is about to close nearly 20 hospitals, cut £3 billion from our schools, plunge over 4 million working families into poverty through their harsh cuts to Universal Credit and refuses to rule out cuts to pension increases or higher tax and national insurance. In contrast, I will promote Labour’s message of long-term investment in public services, fairness for working people, and decent support for pensioners and those who cannot work.”
