I’ve been at Whaley Bridge station this morning talking to commuters about the high cost of rail fares. At £14.20 for a day return from Whaley Bridge to Manchester it’s no wonder that with a failing service, usually two carriages and too many cancellations lots of commuters are wanting to see a Labour government next week. We will renationalise our railways and reduce rail fares by a third from the 1st of January instead of raising them by 2.7% like the Conservatives will.
